Privacy Policy
Anonymous on the web. In the mobile app, only what is needed to find your door — and yours to delete at any time.
The Simple Truth
On wimp.homes and the in-browser wayfinding experience, WiMP collects anonymous usage analytics to understand how guests use indoor navigation — nothing more. No personal data is collected there. No accounts, no forms, no advertising pixels, no cross-site tracking. The WiMP mobile appworks differently, because it requires an account — see “WiMP Mobile App” below.
What We Collect
Personal Data
None on the web experience. No name, email, phone number, or any other identifier is collected there. The mobile app is covered separately below.
In-App Usage Events
We track the following interactions to understand how guests use WiMP:
- Starting location selected
- Destination selected
- Navigation / route initiated
- Floor switched during navigation
- Navigation route completed
- Entrance information viewed
- “Lost” mode activated
- Route reported as incomplete
- Accessibility mode toggled
Automatically Captured Events
Standard browser and app activity is also captured automatically, including:
- Page loads and screen views
- Core Web Vitals (performance metrics)
- Clicks on non-interactive elements
- Repeated clicks (rage clicks)
- Unhandled errors
- Content Security Policy violations
Approximate Location
The country and region of each session is captured at the network level. No precise location data (GPS, street address, etc.) is collected.
Session Identifier
Each session is assigned a random UUID generated locally on your device (e.g. 019e7a61-8131-7ab9-97d9-455321ed774e). This identifier contains no personal information and cannot be used to identify any individual. There is no user login or account creation.
How We Use Information
Anonymous usage data is used solely to understand how guests interact with indoor navigation — which features are used, where navigation breaks down, and how the experience can be improved.
It is never used for advertising, profiling, or sale to third parties. Because no personal data is collected, there is nothing to profile or re-identify.
Sharing/Selling
We do not sell or share personal information. If this ever changes, we will update this notice and provide appropriate controls before enabling such features.
Third-party Links
If you follow links to third-party services (for example, our scheduling page at Calendly), your use of those services is governed by their policies. We do not receive your data from them unless you actively provide it to us during scheduling or communications.
Your Rights
For the Site/Demo, our response will typically confirm that we do not maintain personal dataabout you. If you hold a mobile app account, you can delete it and everything attached to it yourself, at any time, from Settings → Delete account. You may also contact us to access, correct or export your data, and we will respond.
Security
We apply reasonable security controls to protect the data we process. No method is 100% secure.
Changes
If our data collection practices change materially, we will update this notice. The effective date at the top of the page always reflects the most recent revision.
WiMP Mobile App
The sections above describe the web experience, where no personal data is collected. The WiMP app for iOS and Android works differently, because it requires an account.
What the app collects
- • Email address and password — to create your account. Passwords are stored only as salted hashes; we never see them.
- • Your property and unit number — needed to generate directions to your door.
- • A device push token, if you enable notifications. Deleted when you turn them off.
Analytics in the app
The app itself contains no analytics or tracking SDKs. The map shown inside it is our wayfinding web experience, so the anonymous analytics described above apply while you are viewing the map.
Directions you share
Sharing directions creates a link containing your property and unit number. Anyone holding that link can view the route to your unit. Links contain no name or email, and cannot be revoked once shared — so share them only with couriers and visitors you intend to let in.
Your control
- • Delete your account — Settings → Delete account. Permanently removes your account, residence details and push token.
- • Turn off notifications — Settings → Notifications.
- • Change your residence — Settings → Change residence.
Service providers
Supabase (account authentication and database) and Expo with Apple or Google (push notification delivery). We do not sell personal data.
